Woodbridge High School Crowns their Homecoming Queen and King

On Friday, October 5th, Woodbridge High School hosted their annual homecoming football game against Monroe High School where WHS won 53-6. The ceremony was put together by Mr. Switek and the senior class officers. At this game Woodbridge High School ‘s 2018-2019 homecoming queen and king were decided amongst the eleven seniors nominated.

The nominees were determined by the staff, who chose 10-15 boys and girls followed by the seniors who narrowed the nominees down to eleven.

The nominees included Melanie Cordova, Melissa Ciaccio, Nyah Anderson, Nia Rosato, Alex Kuziemski, Nigel Pala, Ryan Vasquez, Charles Susle, Ben Lepisto, Michael Job, and Lorenzo Castillo.

The homecoming king was Ryan Vasquez; a member of the National Honors Society, Student Advisory Council, Safety Ambassadors, U Got Brains, Heroes & Cool Kids organization, and has played soccer for all four years at WHS.

“I never expected to win. I was just glad to be able to participate in this event. Winning was a nice bonus. All six court members were great candidates and any of us would’ve made a great king.” – homecoming king, Ryan Vasquez

Ryan is planning on studying film production in his first choice college, Rowan University.

The homecoming queen was Nia Rosato; a member of the National Honors Society, Heros & Cool Kids,TAPS (Teacher Apprentice Program),  and is a member of the varsity basketball team for WHS.

“When I won, I was in shock. I questioned if they even said my name, but overall I was happy and felt really blessed.”

Nia is planning to attend Fairleigh Dickinson University to study nursing.
