On this day, November the 30th, in the year of 1982, Thriller, Michael Jackson’s award winning sixth solo album, was released.

Going on to be the second best selling album of all time (only being beat by an Eagles greatest hits compilation), the album featured such songs as “Thriller”, “Billie Jean”, “Beat It”, and “Pretty Young Thing” (Business Insider) (PopVortex).

Whilst being an established star before the release of Thriller, the album brought him to new highs, helping cement him as the “King of Pop”.

At the next (26th) GRAMMY Awards Show, Jackson received eight GRAMMYS for his works surrounding the album, a record for one night (Chicago Tribune) (The GRAMMYS) (CNBC).
