Between 2015 to 2017 Kentrell DeSean Gaulden AKA NBA Youngboy released eight independent mixtapes and generated a bit of a fanbase. However, in August of 2017 his career really began when he signed to Atlantic Records.
After getting signed to he dropped his 7th mixtape “AI Youngboy” that had hit songs like “Untouchable”, “No Smoke” and “Graffiti” which all have over 100 million views on Youtube. On October 7th, 2017 NBA Youngboy dropped his eighth mixtape “Aint To Long” and on November 16, 2017 he made a collab album with upincoming rapper Moneybagg Yo.
On April 27th, 2018 he dropped his long awaited album “Until Death Call My Name” with hits like “Overdose”, “Diamond Teeth Samurai”, “Solar Eclipse”, “Outside Today”, “Astronaut Kid” and “Traumatized”. Later in 2018 he dropped his album “Decided” and in December, 5 days before Christmas, he dropped a present for his fans and released “Realer” with hit songs like “Slime Belief”, “My Mama Say” and “Valuable Pain” which is one of his biggest hits to this day.
On October 11th, 2019 10 months after his last released album “Realer” NBA Youngboy dropped “AI Youngboy 2” a follow up to “AI Youngboy” that came out 2 years before, on this album he had hits like “Self Control”, “Lonely Child” and “Make No Sense”. The next year he dropped 8 albums “Colors”, “The Last Slimeto”, “Realer 2”, “3800 Degrees”, “3860”, “Lost Files” “Ma I Got A Family” and “BETTER THAN YOU” a collab album with rapper Dababy. In 2023 he dropped “I Rest My Case”, “Dont Try This At Home” and “Richest Opp”.
A couple months after his last album “Richest Opp”, NBA Youngboy dropped “Decided 2”. He has had hits like “GUAPI”, Guitar Hero”, “My Address Public” and “Better Than Ever” Featuring Florida rapper Rod Wave.
Fans love for his versatile and enjoyable music got him on the Billboard Hot 100 with his song “Better Than Ever” peaking at 99 on the Billboard Hot 100. Later, Decided 2 peaked at Number 17 on the Billboard top 200.
