Woodbridge High School’s annual Homecoming game occurred on Friday, October 11 at Woodbridge High School at seven p.m. The annual Homecoming crowning ceremony took place during the game’s halftime.
The Homecoming King nominees were; Jeremiah Allen, Bryan Anderson, Jahmir Beal, Anthony Pena, and Tyler Simkovich. While, the Homecoming Queen nominees were; Angelise Benimadho, Tatiana Camilo, Yarely Flores, Angie Smolder, and Tierny Williams.
Jeremiah Allen
He is one of Woodbridge High School’s football and basketball players and is also a part of Heroes and Cool Kids. Allen is interested in sports as well as music, watching television, and African American History. “Honored and happy” was how Allen described feeling being nominated for homecoming king.
Bryan Anderson
Anderson is a part of Woodbridge High School’s football, track, and basketball teams and is also involved in the school’s National Honor Society. In addition to being interested in sports, he is also interested in nature. He said being nominated for Homecoming King felt “really good,” not only because he was nominated but because he knows he has “good support” around him.
Jahmir Beal
Beal is a member of the Black Student Union at Woodbridge High School and is interested in sports. Beal said “It felt great,” being nominated for Homecoming King, especially because teachers nominated him.
Anthony Pena
Pena is Woodbridge High School’s tennis team captain. He is also the Debate Club’s vice president and a part of the swim team. Pena is interested in art, music, history, politics, and tennis. He said being nominated for Homecoming King was “surprising at first,” as he didn’t expect it.
Tyler Simkovich
Simkovich is a part of the Math Honor Society, Science Honor Society, National Honor Society, the football, baseball, and wrestling teams, and Heroes and Cool Kids. Simkovich is interested in sports and likes to hang out with his friends. He said being nominated for homecoming king was “unexpected.”
Angelise Benimadho
She is president of Woodbridge High School’s National Honor Society, Hispanic Culture Club, and Debate Club. She is the vice president of DECA, and she is a student class officer. Outside of school, she is a Girl Scout. Benimadho is interested in law, science, soccer, and museums. She described being nominated for homecoming queen as “a blessing,” and she is “very grateful.”
Tatiana Camilo
Camilo is a member of Woodbridge High School’s Black Student Union, DEI, Prom committee, varsity track and cheer, Heroes and Cool Kids, National Honor Society, and JROTC. She is interested in photography, designing, cheer, and track. Camilo said being nominated for Homecoming queen felt “pretty cool,” and wasn’t expecting it because she started school “really shy.”
Yarely Flores
Flores is a member of Woodbridge High School’s National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Math Honor Society. She loves to play soccer on the girl’s varsity team. Flores said, “I felt very honored people nominated me,” when asked how it felt being nominated for homecoming queen.
Angie Smolder
She is a part of the school’s soccer team and basketball team. While also being a senior class officer and working at an ice cream shop. Smolder likes soccer, as well as animals, baking, and reading. Smolder said, “It was cool to be nominated.”
Tierny Williams
Williams is a member of Woodbridge High School’s Black Student Union, and she does competitive cheerleading and Spirit cheerleading. Some of Williams’ interests include; cheerleading and shopping. She said being nominated for homecoming queen was “very shocking and exciting.”

Bryan Anderson was crowned Homecoming King, while Tatiana Camilo was crowned Homecoming Queen.
