Disney movie Moana did very well when it first released in Nov. 2016 leading them to make a sequel. Moana 2 was released on Nov. 27.
Moana 2 was about Moana discovering there are more tribes of people out there, she gathers a group of people to go on a voyage to find the unknown. Along the way, she makes a plan to find Maui and restore the islands.
I thought the movie was interesting and thought out. I think the first movie was better and I would rate Moana 2 a 5/10. No songs in the new movie really stuck out to me as the first movie was better.
While the movie left a bit to be desired, The Barron Perspective got a chance to speak with students about their feelings on the film. While the original is always a great watch, the reviews for the sequel were mixed according to our student population.
“I would rate it 4/10, the first movie was better and the soundtrack wasn’t that great in the second movie,” said Anaya Azhar.
“I thought the movie was good,” said Gabriella Tortoriello. “Both were good, and I enjoyed the soundtrack.”
The movie starred Dwayne Johnson playing Maui and Auli’i Cravalho playing Moana. The movie takes place three years after the first one, and it is about Moana’s new adventure and reuniting with old friends.
