Woodbridge High School administrators are progressing upon their improvements made during the summer months and school year to ready for student in the upcoming year. Among the changes they have installed air conditioner, security camera, built an educational facility, and altered senior parking spaces.

During the summer break of 2017, new air conditioners have been added to almost all classrooms on each floor. This year’s goal was to add air conditioners to the first floor classrooms, out of 20 rooms only six rooms to not yet received the upgrade. However, there are air conditioning units in every first floor D-Wing rooms and more are still being actively installed.

In addition, the school has been supplied with new locks on lockers and security cameras. There are now cameras located on the building’s sides and hallways. Mr. Lottmann, the Principal, have approved of these changes for their advantages in securing students’ overall well-being. “[These additions] were put in for more security to make sure we’re 100% safe,” he said.

Due to the distance from students’ homerooms, Woodbridge High School has redesigned and relocated senior parking spots that were interfering with them getting to class on time. The slanted spots on the oval has now became designated for teacher parking, as well as the lot next to the gym. Seniors are allow access to the lot behind the oval, called the senior lot, and all the spots behind the stadium, in addition to most of the D Wing parking spots.

Also, the library will be implemented to be re-purposed as the “Academic Center of Excellence,” or “ACE,” room.

Despite the new improvements that have taken place, administrators still yearn for an exemplary building for public education. “I wish we had a brand new, state of the art building…[with] state of the art educational supplies, climate control, and anything a student or teacher would need to succeed,” Mr. Lottmann said.
