Although the Insta Burger King franchise was established prior to this date, the first restaurant opened under the current name “Burger King” was established on December 4th, 1954 in Miami, Florida. The establishment was opened by James MLamore and David Edgerton. The chain gradually grew in popularity, and now has more than 13,000 locations worldwide.
