Conclusion Reached: School Lunch is Gross
April 1, 2018
After years of studying and hard work, school administrators and faculty have finally come to the conclusion that school lunch is gross. It had taken teachers and staff so long to figure out what exactly causes the garbage cans to fill with food, leftovers on the table and in the kitchen. The food that is left uneaten is a waste of money, and damages the school.
Once the lunch bell rings, the sandwich line begins to grow, and spiral through the front half of the lunch room. Leo Flores, a sophomore, buys his lunch from the cafeteria every day. He says,“The school lunch is very bad. Usually, I get a sandwich or a poptart. I have eaten a poptart every school day for lunch for the past year and a half.”
John Catipay, a junior, has been buying school lunch since elementary school. “I’m really happy that they finally made this discovery that school lunch is gross. Sometimes, I would find myself eating the food and I couldn’t understand why I didn’t like it. Thank God I finally realized that it was gross, and the school did, too.”
Mr. O’Halloran is a journalism teacher at WHS. “These past years have been so expensive; it’s good that we finally made this discovery and it paid off,” he said.
With this new conclusion, the school will put more effort and money into making school lunch not gross. The goal of the lunch staff is to have less food wasted, so that kids eat more at lunch and the food products are saved, which will ultimately lead to saved money.
The unfortunate tortillas with one piece of chicken, the soggy burgers, fritos with ground beef, and those green beans, are no more. All of these foods will be terminated, urgently. Hopefully these foods will be replaced with more beneficial options, such as nachos, decent pizza, pancakes, french fries, and more appealing burgers. Many thanks go to the school board for the long, hard years of researching and working that they put into discovering, “school lunch,” is indeed gross.
