2019 Varsity Football Team Undefeated

The Woodbridge High School Varsity Football team are undefeated this season with a record of 10-0 . The football team has had a wonderful season this year coached by Coach LaSala and along with seven other coaches.
Coach LaSala has been a coach for two years at Woodbridge High School, and has been coaching for nine years in total. In his years of coaching he has learned “as a coach you have to constantly adjust to the players that you have on your team.”
The team is excited for the playoffs , they are well-prepared. Coach LaSala said, ”I definitely think our work ethic and what we do in the off season has lead us to success this season. They start their training during the off season where they go to the weight room around 6 am then in the warmer months they go on the field to practice plays.On season they practice after school Monday through Saturday.
Quarterback Anthony Santino said, “We work hard everyday in practice to stay in shape and stay game ready every week.”
“All the hard work were putting in has carried throughout the season,” said Ali Lee Jr.
Jamir Brown said, “it feels great to be undefeated… its the best way we started since around 22 years.” They want to continue making Woodbridge history
Coach Nyers said, “This will be our first playoff we’ll have, our first home playoff game since my senior season in 2011.”
Sebastian Montlouis who plays defense and offense said, ”I am happy to enter the playoffs…I want to go all the way.” Santino views the teams as a family, “we all work well together, and that’s a large contributor to the success we’ve been having this season,” said Santino.
The players are working toward their next game, Coach LaSala said,”we’re taking it one game at a time.” They won two playoff games and will go to the championship game on Friday at North Highlands at 6:15 pm.
