On this day, January the 23rd, in the year of 1986, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted its first class of musicians into it.
Members of its first class were people who helped shape the genre to the highs it would achieve, some before the phrase “rock and roll “ was even coined.
The first class included were Chuck Berry, James Brown, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Fats Domino, The Everly Brothers, Alan Fred, John Hammond, Buddy Holly, Robert Johnson, Jersey Lee Lewis, Sam Phillips, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Jimmie Rodgers, and Jimmy Yancey (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) (Britannica) (myradiolink.com).
