The Girls’ Volleyball Team season started September 8th and they’re off to a good start with a record of 6-3, their next game being October 5th against Piscataway.

Coach Jacovinich is in his 8th season coaching volleyball (2 years on JV, and 6 years on the Varsity level.) His favorite thing about coaching this year is watching the girls have fun playing volleyball both at games and practice.

Last year, the Varsity team went 12-10. “We had a successful season last year but struggled once the playoffs came, I am hoping to win a game in the GMC tournament this year.”

“As a whole we have a winning record, we’re having fun and we’re improving everyday so I’m happy with the way the season is going so far. The season high for me so far was beating South Plainfield, we lost the first set but battled back to win the next two and take the victory.”

“Wins are important but enjoying the sport is important as well”, he added.

Varsity player Kadence Mastrola added, “The season is going pretty well, the varsity is alright.”

“My favorite thing about the season this year is playing with all the seniors. We all get along and help each other when we need it. I love my coach, he keeps the team together.”

“Last year there was a lot of covid restrictions so the team as a whole wasn’t that close, this year we are all together and I love playing with them.”
