This is senior Savannah Alamo. It’s Savannah’s first year playing soccer. She is number 23 on the Varsity Girls Soccer Team at Woodbridge High School. Her favorite position is right forward. In her opinion the best game she played was the game against Colonia. The soccer team’s best game was also the game against Colonia. She plans to continue her soccer career by playing club soccer in the military and possibly playing in college. The most influential person in her soccer career is family because her family would play for fun. A piece of advice she would like to give to her underclassmen playing soccer is to just breathe, even when it’s stressful sometimes, and don’t let anyone bring you down.
This is senior Angelina Xicali. She is number 4 on the Varsity Girls Soccer Team at Woodbridge High School. She normally plays forward or center striker. Angelina started off playing soccer for fun with her family and then joined a team in her junior year. In her opinion, her best game was the North Plainfield game. Angelina thought the soccer team’s best game was Senior Night versus Colonia. She does not plan on continuing her soccer career when she gets out of high school. The most influential person in her soccer career is her father because he played soccer and always made soccer a part of her life. A message she gives to her underclassmen playing soccer is to always keep trying and to never give up, when you lose a game it’s not the end of the world just try harder in the next game.
This is senior Kayla Roman. She is number 3 on the Varsity Girls Soccer Team at Woodbridge High School. Her favorite position is left wing. Kayla started playing when she was 6 or 7 years old. In her opinion, her best game as a player was the game against Saint Thomas Aquinas. The best game as a team was the Senior night game against Colonia in Kayla’s opinion. Her most memorable goal was when she was on JV in a game against New Brunswick. She does not plan on continuing her soccer career when she gets out of high school. The most influential in her soccer career is Messi, she said that she can relate to him. A message she gives to her underclassmen is to push through together and bond with your team because the only way you’re going to win is by working together.
This is senior Kaitlyn Haak. She is number 99 and her field number is 17 on the Varsity Girls Soccer Team. Her favorite position is goalie. Katie first started playing when she was 5 years old. She felt that her best game was the first Sayreville game, the best as a team was the senior night game. Her most memorable goal was in a game against it was a game against New Brunswick. She does not plan on continuing her soccer career when she gets out of high school. Her former travel coach is the most influential person in her soccer career because he has been there since she was a child and was the first to teach her all her skills. A word of advice she would give to her underclassmen playing soccer is to never give up and don’t let anyone’s words affect you.
This is senior Kimberly Mitma. She is number 20 on the Varsity Girls Soccer Team. Kim’s favorite position is midfield. She first started playing when she was 6 years old. She thought that her best game was the game against East Brunswick, the best game as a team was the Colonia game. Her most memorable goal was her first goal when she was on JV. She does not plan on continuing her soccer career when she gets out of high school. The most influential person in her soccer career is her brother. He always supported her and showed up when she needed it most. He always gave her advice on techniques and helped her on and off the field. Some advice she would like to give to her underclassmen playing soccer is to not give up and keep your head held high.
This is senior Taylor Pezulich. She is number 6 on the Varsity Girls Soccer Team. Her favorite position is forward. Taylor’s started playing soccer at 3 years old. In her opinion, her best game was senior night against Colonia, as a team the best game was a game against Metuchen. Her most memorable goal was her senior night goal. She does plan on continuing her soccer career by playing in college. Someone that is influential in her soccer career is Rose Lavel in the National Women’s Soccer League. because
“A lot of her playing style is similar to mine, and she is very dominant with her left foot like me,” said Taylor “She’s very inspirational because she works very hard and this year the US team needed her on the field for them to do good,”
Some advice she would give to her underclassmen playing soccer is to put in the work.
In the end, the Varsity Girls Soccer Team ended up winning their senior night game. Colonia put up a crazy fight against Woodbridge, but in the end we won. The three goal scorers were Ciara Murphy, Taylor Pezulich, and Aubrey Pezulich.
