The Woodbridge High School boys bowling team looks to build off of a young roster’s first year. Head Coach Amanda Small is back with the team and is ready to lead the state title hoping Barrons. The Barrons are returning their entire roster from last year and are ready to compete with the best teams across the state. Last year the team had 4 freshman starters who are all looking to build on their first year.
Sophomores Ryan Montalvo, Christian Kokalenios, Michael Gurovich, and Anthony Lyczkowski are looking to put up big scores. Seniors Josh Ruck and James Fudge are looking to anchor the Barron roster and lead the team.
“I am excited. I just want to win. Last year was fun but we didn’t achieve our goal, so this year with a new coach I feel like we are going to have a good season and it should be fun.” Anthony Lyczkowski said.
The Barrons will compete in six tournaments this year with the goal to win them all.
“I’m looking forward to all the tournaments because that’s when we have the most fun during the season.” Christian Kokalenios said.
Woodbridge looks to keep stride with last year’s GMC champions and state champions St. Joe’s. Joe’s posts a formidable roster and the Barrons will look to match them and knock off the number-one team in the state.
Senior captain James Fudge has great hopes for the season. “I feel this year’s team is really close and we have a great shot at a state title. I can’t wait to start and get going.” “I’ve been practicing all summer trying to get as good as I can.” Fudge adds.
The Barrons open the year against South Brunswick on December 5th.
