Bad Bunny is one of the most streamed artists in the industry, making music that everybody can enjoy even if you don’t speak the language. The global artist has generated over 18.5 billion streams in 2022, giving him the Spotify’s top artist award for the third year in a row.
His last album that came out summer of 2022, Un Verano Sin Ti, and he did not disappoint.. This album was the album of the summer and had everybody from all over the world in good spirits. This hard work paid off when he won the biggest prize of the evening at the 2023 GRAMMY. He went home with the award for Best Musica Urbana Album for “Un Verano Sin Ti”.
The album starts off with “NADIE SABE ” which is a 6 minute manifesto with Bad Bunny coming in and being joined by a full choir. In this song he shows a lot of confidence, expressing that he is “in his prime,” and that’s why people try to pray for his downfall. This album is said to be for his day one fans, since most of the songs on the album go back to the Latin Trap style that was an iconic part of his first album “X 100PRE”.
In the new songs, he talks about familiar topics that were mentioned in his previous albums including parties, fame, money, and even breakups. His song “GRACIAS POR NADA ” on the album was a heartfelt & strong song about an ex-girlfriend that had cheated on him. He has currently been getting a lot of attention for “dating” celebrity Kendall Jenner. The fans were all talking about this song discussing if he was talking about Kendall, talking about his precious girlfriend, or if it was just for the music. This was one of the most talked about songs from the album.
Another song off of the album that surprised people was “WHERE SHE GOES”. In this song, Bad Bunny went for a style we’ve never seen from him before, which is Jersey Club. This song was out before he released the album, and fans have loved it since day 1. Nobody would’ve thought he’d be rapping on a jersey club type of beat, and be able to pull it off very well. These are the kind of things that keeps Bunny relevant and has his music being streamed all over the world. He knows what his fans want and he delivers.
Overall, this was a very diverse and unique album for Bad Bunny. The fans loved not knowing to expect from the album with all of the different types of music and backgrounds that were incorporated. Would you agree with some that say this may be his best album? Which one was your #1?.
