Major League Baseball has crowned their 2023 World Series Champions, the Texas Rangers on November 1, 2023. The road they took there was not easy, follow them and all other playoff team’s journey through the MLB playoffs.

Opening Up with Four Wildcard Series.

Twins vs Blue Jays, Twins 2-0. Rays vs Rangers, Rangers 2-0. Brewers vs Diamondbacks, Diamondbacks 2-0. Marlins vs Phillies, Phillies 2-0.

Some standout players from the Wildcard Series were, Corey Seager SS, (Rangers) who hit .625 with 5 hits including 3 doubles. Corbin Caroll CF, (Diamondbacks) hit .571 with 4 hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Aaron Nola P, Win, 7 innings, 0 runs, 3 SO’s.

In the Divisional Series Round.

Astros vs Twins, Astros 3-1. Orioles vs Rangers, Rangers 3-0. Dodgers vs Diamondbacks, Diamondbacks 3-0. Braves vs Phillies, Phillies 3-1.

The Phillies had guys like Trae Turner SS, who hit .471 with 8 hits, including 2 home runs, and 2 doubles. Nick Castellanos LF, who hit .467 with 4 home runs. Bryce Harper RF, hit .462 with 6 hits, including 3 home runs.

Pitching studs over the round include, Ranger Suarez (Phillies), Win, 8.2 Innings, 0 ER, and 6 SO’s. Cristian Javier (Astros), Win, 5 Innings, 0 ER, and 9 SO’s. Pablo Lopez (Twins), Win, 7 Innings, 0 ER, 7 SO’s.

The championship series had the two closest series of the playoffs.

Astros vs Rangers, Rangers 4-3. Phillies vs Diamondbacks, 4-3 Diamondbacks.

Players that led the Rangers to a series win, Adolis Garcia RF, who hit .357, with 10 hits, and 5 home runs. Corey Seager SS, who hit .258, with 8 hits, 2 home runs and 2 doubles. Nathaniel Lowe 1B, who hit .259, with 7 hits, including 2 home runs and 1 double. Jordan Montgomery P, 2 Wins, 12 Innings, 2 ER, and 10 SO’s.

Players that led the Phillies to a series win were Kyle Schwarber DH, who hit .364 with 8 hits, including 5 home runs and 2 doubles. Brandon Marsh LF, who hit .333 with 8 hits and 3 doubles. Alec Bohm 3B, who hit .280, had 7 hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Zack Wheeler P, 2 Wins, 14.2 Innings, 3 ER, and 17 SO’s.

The World Series matchup was between The Rangers and Diamondbacks.

The final series score ended with a 4-1 Rangers win. The series was tied 1-1, and The Rangers would go on to win the next 3 in a row.

Prominent Ranger World Series Performances, World Series MVP Corey Seager SS, hit .286 and had 6 hits including 3 home runs and 1 double. Marcus Semien 2B, hit .292 with 7 hits, including 2 home runs and 1 triple. Nathan Eovaldi P, 10.2 Innings, 5 ER, and 13 SO’s.

The playoff teams from this year will look to bring this success into the next year.
