The holidays can be a fun time for many people and many cultures. The most common holiday celebrated during the holiday season in the United States happens to be Christmas.
Interviews were conducted on several people, of different cultures, about their holiday experiences, and there were many interesting answers.
Woodbridge High School senior Marcos Miranda said he enjoys Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day, but he does enjoy both. He also stated that he enjoyed the holidays more as a kid, rather than now. He said “Because he had less worries, and got more gifts, and it simply just felt more like Christmas.”
“Personally, my family celebrates Christmas. I love getting gifts for my family and then watching their reaction when they unwrap my gift.” said Melani Torres, also a senior at Woodbridge High School. She also said that the holidays are her favorite part of the year every year, and she always looks forward to it. She added that she is truly hoping for a snowy Christmas Day.
Many people stated that they adored the holidays more as a child because it just felt more real. Michael Corbett, also a senior at Woodbridge High School, said that as a child he used to love the Elf on The Shelf tradition his parents used to do every Christmas. It would start on Thanksgiving and go until Christmas Day. Him and his brother used to love the surprise every morning of seeing where the Elf was, and what he did.
Many people stated the opposite, saying that they adored the holidays more at the age they are now because they are more involved, and get to do more.
