Football on Christmas

Christmas day is the day most kids in the world wake up early to open presents from Santa. For older people it’s a day for family and friends and to all be together. But for some people it’s a day of football. The reason to get away from family, the presents, the kids, and sometimes drama, is to watch 22 men throw pig skin for 100 yards.

Christmas games are looked at every year and tag along with some of the best games of the season. For fans and for fantasy owners the football games make the holidays just that much better.

The first game that kicks off at one o’clock is the Las Vegas Raiders against the Kansas City chiefs. The Raiders coming off a blowout win against the Chargers on Thursday Night Football, the final score was 63-21. On the other side of the field are the Chiefs who are moving past a heartbreaking loss to the Buffalo Bills. In the last seconds of the game the Chiefs had a huge completion to Travis Kelce but he couldn’t make it to the end zone. Luckily for the Chiefs Kelce acted fast as he lateralled to Kadarius Toney and he scored. Unfortunately Toney lined up offsides and the play was called back which led to the Chiefs losing. The first Christmas game will set the bar high for the rest of the games later in the day.

The second game of the day contains one of the biggest rivalries in football history. The New York Giants play the Philadelphia Eagles in Philly. The Eagles have been a powerhouse the whole year but now in the last two weeks have been in a slump, taking back to back losses against the 49ers and the Cowboys. On the other hand the Giants are a complete opposite. The Giants started off very slow but now are on a three game winning streak with Tommy Devito as their quarterback. Daniel Jones The Giants starting quarterback got hurt back in week nine and they had to call their practice squad quarterback up Tommy Devito. Devito has been a fan favorite winning the games that he has started and he hoped to lead them to another win over one of the biggest powerhouses in the NFL.

The last game on Christmas contains The Baltimore Ravens and The San Francisco 49ers. The Ravens have been the best team in the AFC with a 10-3 record. Lamar Jackson has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league and has so many threats on offense to go along with him. The 49ers are not only the best team in the NFC but they are voted the best team in the NFL. San Francisco has been the NFL’s best defense for years and now they have an offense with everything you need. A young quarterback in Brock Purdy, phenomenal receivers with Brandon Ayuik, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle, and the best running back in the league Christian McCaffrey.

The Christmas games are going to be nothing short of amazing. So get ready to open presents, eat some food and yell at the TV at your team all day.
