SUPA Academics Writing is a dual enrollment class in Woodbridge High School. It wants you to break out of your comfort zone in writing. Mostly the five-paragraph essay. It aims to improve your writing, analysis, notes, and everything else. Mrs. Kreisel has been teaching the class and emphasizes the importance of analytical writing. We interviewed WHS students, Rishab Seth and Anthony Smith to get a better understanding inside.
“I took this class to improve my writing and needed help for my college essay. I love the class especially because of the discussions and analyzing pictures. We take everything from the picture and think about it,” said Rishab Seth.
In addition, the class allows you to view things from your perspective while also maintaining a neutral tone. It has interesting assignments, such as the blog post or Rich Tweets Making Claims, which allow students to share their opinions on a text and reply to each other helping students learn how to express their opinions thoughtfully.
Anthony Smith shares his experience, “I like that we can all work at our own pace and the class is very helpful with college. I’ve learned to trust my writing more and that it’s okay to ask for help.”
SUPA Academics is a great class for anyone willing to take their writing skills to the next level and improve their college essay. Learning new skills along the way challenges students to improve their writing and a glimpse of what college classes will be like.
“Also, I learned that when you’re interpreting pictures, you don’t give a plain summary of what it is. You should give meaningful interpretations. I would highly recommend this class to anyone wanting to improve their writing and want a challenging course that’ll take them to the next level,” said Rishab Seth.
