Fifteen students from Woodbridge High School have been accepted into the “Decision for Dentistry” Program at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. The program offers students the opportunity to experience firsthand the dentistry field through three one-day sessions during the academic year.
The participating students range from sophomores to seniors, and will represent Woodbridge High School along with attending teachers Ms. Tina Clarke and Ms. Dana Sacco. The students comprise a staggering one-third of the limited 45 available spots.
During their time, students will be welcomed by faculty and student mentors who will guide them through the program. Specifically, students will take dental impressions from manikins, which are jointed anatomical models. They will also take part in clinical observations with their student mentor, engage a panel of practitioners, and explore the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine through an admissions symposium.
The Woodbridge High School students are: Hireshel Berame, Kwadwo Boateng, Delisson Bueno, Ganishah Charles-Estain, Eugene Frimpong, Jennifer Helley, Angela Jackson, Jasmine Johnson, Destiny Kuria, Mehdi Lemdani, Nestor Medina, Samantha Mundy, Xhenete Nelovic, Valerie Poesl, and Karen Virto
