On December 21st, 1913, the first ever crossword puzzle was published in the New York World, a Sunday newspaper. The puzzle, which is now considered one of the most famous word game in the world, was created by a journalist named Arthur Wynne. The crossword puzzle eventually found its way into Europe, and the first crossword puzzle to appear in England was in 1922, in the Pearson’s Magazine.
