The Barron Perspective recently had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Barandica, Woodbridge’s new athletic trainer, to get to know him better.
Barron Perspective: What sport(s) are you the athletic trainer for at WHS?
Mr. Barandica: As Head Athletic Trainer for Woodbridge High School, I am responsible for all
sport teams throughout the year, including every competitive season.
BP: Do you teach any classes at Woodbridge High School?
MB: I do not teach any classes at Woodbridge High School. At this time, I serve strictly as Head
Athletic Trainer.
BP: What are you most looking forward to about your first year at WHS?
MB: I am looking forward to a great season for all of the athletic teams and providing the
student athletes with the best care possible.
BP: What was your favorite class in high school?
MB: In high school, my favorite classes were anatomy & physiology and math.
BP: Do you have any hobbies?
MB: My hobbies include spending time with my girlfriend, family, and running around with my
labrador retriever Tito.
BP: Do you have any pet peeves?
MB: My pet peeve includes hearing discriminatory remarks towards others because of their
beliefs, religion, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, disability, race, etc. The human race
is diverse in many ways, but at the end of the day, we are all of the same human species. I
embrace diversity and truly believe that we can learn from each other in order to become
better individuals and citizens. I have zero tolerance for discrimination.
BP: Where would you most like to travel to in the world?
MB: I had the opportunity to travel to Italy, Spain, and Ireland this summer for the first time and
really enjoyed it. I would love to explore other countries in Europe, as well as travel to
other continents.
BP: What is your favorite movie?
MB: My favorite movies are The Dark Knight trilogy which includes Batman Begins, The Dark
Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises.
BP: What has been your favorite part of WHS thus far?
MB: So far, my favorite part of working at WHS has been interacting and working with many
great athletes who succeed not only in the classroom, but also in their respective sports,
and also working with great administrators and staff. I have been welcomed with open
arms and look forward to being part of the Barron family.
BP: Is there anything else you would like to add?
MB: Some advice to all WHS students: high school years can be some of the most memorable
times in your life. Cherish the moments you have with your family, friends, and peers,
never taking any of it for granted. Be the best version of yourself and most importantly,
always make good choices.
