The Barron Perspective is pleased to welcome back Ms. Meros, an English and Science Special Education teacher. Now that her children are older, Ms. Meros is back to help her students succeed. We caught up with Ms. Meros to reintroduce her to the students at WHS.
Barron Perspective: What college(s) did you attend?
Ms. Meros: Kean University.
BP: What made you want to become a teacher? When did you decide to become a teacher?
MM: My sister teaches special education and I began working at Camp Pace straight out of
high school, that’s when I knew I wanted to become a special education teacher.
BP: How long have you been a teacher at Woodbridge High School?
MM: I have been teaching at WHS since 1996, and have been on maternity leave [for] the past three years raising my wonderful babies.
BP: Are you coaching any sports or advising any clubs?
MM: I do not coach anything now, however, I did coach girls’ basketball back in 1996, and I coached, from 1996-2001, girls’ JV, and I was the assistant varsity basketball.
BP: What are you most looking forward to about your first year back at WHS?
MM: I’m no rookie, so I am happy to return “home.”
BP: Do you have any hobbies?
MM: With young ones at home, I guess you can say I have taken up coloring and building blocks. I also play basketball but I enjoy all sports.
BP: What was your favorite class in high school?
MM: Gym- I was (still am) an athlete.
BP: Do you have any pet peeves?
MM: Not really. Not much bothers me. But don’t lie to me.
BP: Where would you most like to travel to in the world?
MM: I am a homebody, but when I do travel, I enjoy the islands.
BP: What is your favorite movie?
MM: The Princess Bride.
BP: What has been your favorite part of being back at WHS thus far?
MM: The staff is one big family and the students are the best around!
BP: Is there anything else you would like to add?
MM: Nice to be back!
