Woodbridge High School is excited to announce the addition of a new teacher to our Physical Education and Health department, Ms. Fletcher. This is her first year teaching here at Woodbridge High School, although she was a teacher at an elementary school in East Brunswick. She’s thrilled to start this new school year and looks forward to building good relationships with both students and staff.
Q: Where are you from?
Ms. Fletcher: I am from Freehold, NJ.
Q: When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Ms. Fletcher: I never knew what I wanted to be when I was older, but I am happy in my career now.
Q: What college did you attend, and what was your major?
Ms. Fletcher: I attended Brookdale Community College and then transferred to Montclair State University. My major was Physical Education and Health.
Q: What previous teaching experience do you have, if any?
Ms. Fletcher: I was a teacher in East Brunswick at the elementary school before coming to Woodbridge.
Q: What made you want to be a teacher, and when did you realize this?
Ms. Fletcher: I wanted to be a teacher because I am passionate about physical education and health. I wanted to be the teacher that students trusted, and I wanted to impact lives. I figured this out my junior year of college.
Q: How were your first days at WHS? What are your thoughts on WHS?
Ms. Fletcher: My first days were stressful coming to a new building, especially coming from a small elementary school, but I am getting used to it. I enjoy being here and learning about the students. I love the diversity this school offers.
Q: What are your expectations for this school year?
Ms. Fletcher: My expectation this year is to make an impact on students’ lives to set them up for success in the future.
Q: What classes are you currently teaching and what will you be teaching next semester?
Ms. Fletcher: Currently, I am teaching both phys ed and health classes, and I will be doing that next semester as well.
Q: What hobbies do you enjoy outside of school?
Ms. Fletcher: I enjoy trying new coffee shops and watching sports in my free time.
