The Boston Red Sox won their first world series since 1918. After the team’s valuable player Babe Ruth was sold to the Yankees, they went under an 86 year old hiatus, known as the “Curse of the Bambino”. This curse was named after Ruth, who had the nickname “The Great Bambino”. Following their win in 2004, the Red Sox won another championship in 2007, making them the team with the most championship wins in the 21st century so far.
