On This Day – November 22nd (JFK Assassination)

On this day, November the 22nd, in the year of 1963, John F. Kennedy (Democrat), the thirty fifth President of the United States of America, was assassinated in Dallas, Texas.

In the Lone Star State to promote policy and readying the state for an upcoming election, JFK was met in Dallas with a crowd watching his motorcade go through the city streets.

At around 12:30 P.M., JFK was shot in the head, killing the President. He would be pronounced dead at 1:00 P.M. after the motorcade speeded to the nearest hospital. 

JFKs assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, would himself be killed while being transferred to jail (JFK Library).
