Some familiar faces in the College Basketball world are off to a hot start in 2023, yet again.

In the 2023 March Madness tournament, the Final Four teams were, UConn, San Diego State, Miami, and FAU. With the National Champions being UConn.

The 2023-2024 College Basketball season started on November 6, 2023.

The four teams from last year are off to hot starts, with a combined record of 24-2 as of December 1, 2023.

In some expert March Madness Bracket Predictions, Uconn is a projected 1 seed. FAU is a projected 3 seed in the ACC. Miami is a projected 5 seed. And San Diego State is a projected 9 seed.

Some other teams that have stood out so far and I predict will make a run in the tournament this year are, Purdue, Arizona, Marquette, Kansas, Baylor, Kentucky, Duke, and UNC.

Some players that are expected to have a big season on these contending teams, Zach Edey, Purdue C. Caleb Love, Arizona PG. Kam Jones, Marquette G. Hunter Dickinson, Kansas C. Ja’Kobe Walter, Baylor G. Antonio Reeves, Kentucky G. Kyle Filipowski, Duke C. RJ Davis, UNC G.

Some players excelling at scoring right now, Tyler Thomas, Senior Guard from Hofstra leading the NCAA with 25 PPG. Jaedon LeDee, Senior Forward averaging 24 PPG. Zach Edey, Senior Center averaging 21.9 PPG.

Some players passing at a high level, Isaiah Stevens leading the NCAA with 8.3 APG. Dajuan Harris Jr, Kansas G averaging 7.4 APG. Braden Smith, Purdue G averaging 6.7 APG.

Student James Fudge said “Duke’s Center Kyle Filipowski is his current MVP. He is leading four of five major stat categories for Duke. He has sneaky athleticism, and plays with integrity.”

Managing Editor Jacob Oatman said “my favorite player is Rutgers’ Center Clifford Omoruyi. Currently Rutgers’ biggest star with a chance at the NBA Draft.”

Managing Editor Josh Ruck said, “Hunter Dickinson uses his size very well and can penetrate the defense is a force in the paint.”

March Madness this year will definitely be interesting, with some new and old faces competing for a National Championship.
