The New York Journal publishes Yellow Kid, the first comic strip to appear in their Sunday color supplement. This comic, created and drawn by Richard F. Outcault, was about a child named Mickey Dugan who represented the ghettos of New York City. The comic was used as a major marketing device towards adults. Yellow Kid is also famous for its connection to journalism based on wrongful exaggeration and fabrication, also known as yellow journalism.
