In Woodbridge Township, there aren’t many recommended destinations for quality Italian food. Yes, there is D’Italia Restaurant in Avenel, but it is usually packed beyond belief. When craving a classic Italian dish, there is no better place to visit than a diner. More specifically, the historic Reo Diner in Woodbridge.

The Reo is home to the best diner food in all of Woodbridge and is served with sides that bring the whole meal together. When chicken parmesan is ordered, it is served with a soup of your choice and access to the salad bar located to the right of the entrance. With the meal itself, it is presented on a very symmetrical plate with the chicken positioned on top of the pasta of your choice with four pieces of garlic bread located in the four corners of the dish. The garlic bread’s positioning perfectly cradles the pasta and contains it on your plate.

Once the presentation is over, digging into the exquisite meal will surely exceed the expectations of an Italian dish from a diner. The mozzarella cheese that tops the chicken along with the tomato sauce which seeps into both the delicious pasta and the mouth-watering garlic bread. Although the food may not replicate an authentic Italian dish, it is certainly an amazing, delicious alternative which is also a cheaper option for a quality meal. The food at the Reo Diner will not let you down, it will even exceed your expectations.

Along with the delicious food, the service there is unmatchable with the friendliest waiters and the nicest hosts. The Reo Diner is located on Amboy Ave. in Woodbridge and is open 24 hours and has been an iconic landmark since it’s opening in 1935. It contains two connected sections, one which includes booths and tables, and another section with booths and a counter for takeout orders. The Reo Diner is considered “The Gem” of Woodbridge.
