The 2018 Woodbridge High School  boys’ volleyball team has high hopes heading into their upcoming season. They will continue to work hard to improve from last year. They are continuing this season with the same head coach, Jay Jacovinich, and are striving to get as far into the Greater Middlesex Conference  as they can.

Coach Jacovinich has been the head coach of the Woodbridge Boys’ Volleyball team for two years and he has high expectations for his team this season. “I expect my team to compete for the White Division title, as well as be a team to look out for in the GMCs.” said Coach Jacovinich.

The players have been working hard at practices, and have begun forming their expectations for this season.

Rohan Desai, a sophomore varsity player, anticipates improving the close-knit relationships of his teammates this season. “Some expectations that I have for the team is that we all get better and play and grow as a team,” said Desai.

Hugh Dulay, another varsity player who has begun his second year with the program this season, is mindful of what the team needs. “Some attributes that are needed on this team are teamwork, to always work hard, and to have a very strong mindset,” Dulay said.

As of now, the team and coach plan to work on focus during practices, and they are determined to continue to work together to achieve the goals they have set for themselves. Coach Jacovinich is proud of his team, and is excited to continue working with them throughout the season.

“The most rewarding part of being a coach,” he said, “is seeing my players understand what I am trying to get across to them. To see them accomplish goals they didn’t think they could reach.” The team hopes to improve on their 10-10 record from the previous year.
