New Teacher Alert: Woodbridge High School Welcomes Mr. Nyers

Mr. Nyers is a new staff member at Woodbridge High School. He works in special education and also coaches three sports at the school. Mr. Nyers graduated from Woodbridge High School in 2012 and proceeded to continue his education at Kean University.

Barron Perspective: What made you want to come back to WHS?
Mr. Nyers: I am a graduate of WHS 2012 and have been coaching here for the past 3 years so this is a school I wanted to be at since I’m from here.

BP: What college did you graduate from?
MN: I graduated from Kean University in Special Education and Social Studies K-12.

BP: What made you want to work in special education?
MN: I wanted to work in special education because it is an area that I feel is very rewarding because I help students reach their potential and I love teaching.

BP: How long have you been working in Special Education? In WHS?
MN: I’ve worked in Special Education for the past 2 years in my student teaching experience and this year as well at WHS.

BP: What is your favorite part about your job?
MN: My favorite part about my job is helping students on a daily basis and seeing them grow as learners.

BP: How do you prepare for the school day?
MN: I prepare for each school day by making sure all assignments and notes are posted on Google Classroom.

BP: What are your hobbies outside of school?
MN: I’m assistant varsity football coach, basketball JV coach and volleyball JV coach.
