Prom, short for “promenade” is a formal dance held at the end of the school year for high school seniors.
The event often involves dressing in formal attire, taking memorable pictures, and celebrating the end of the academic year with peers. Prom season can be filled with fun, but it is also very stressful. So I’ve decided to create a list of the top 3 things to help High School seniors prepare for prom in 2026.
First off, DO NOT wait to buy your dress or suit!
“Waiting until the last couple of weeks can limit your options.” says tuxedobysarno.com
There is no such thing as too early. When you find the outfit that is perfect for you, get it. That way you can just add your shoes, accessories, etc and your preparation is done.
Second, be sure to book your appointments accordingly. You don’t want any issues with hair/haircut appointments, nails, etc. By making sure all of your appointments are set correctly, it will alleviate stress, panic, or worry. Book them now so you don’t miss out!
Lastly, decide whether you’re going solo, or as a duo, and make sure you buy your tickets on time! Whether you take your best friends, partner, or cousin. Be sure this is a day you will look back on, and you will want to say “Wow, we had so much fun at prom.
Most of all, have fun! This is the biggest piece of advice we can give. You only have one senior prom, so have the best time and create a lifelong memory!
