The National Honor Society (NHS) hosted its annual winter fest at Woodbridge High School on Dec. 11. The event featured lots of food, prizes, and games for both members and visitors to enjoy. We interviewed Angelise Benimadho, President of NHS, about why they think the winter festival is important.
“Winter Fest is just celebrating with friends and family and just getting together with the ones you love. So for the National Honor Society, we want to do something that brings the community together, so we chose to do Winter Fest everybody is excited about the upcoming break so we decided to do a little get-together for the school so that way we can eat, we can have fun, play games so be with our community,” said Angelise Benimadho, President of NHS.
Mrs. Kavaja, one of the NHS advisors, said, “It’s a fundraiser that will have games, snacks allergy considered, and an opportunity to make cards for hospitalized children and anybody who donates. Some options are canned food which would be beneficial for free entry.”
The winter fest included a candy cane scavenger hunt, games, and snacks for members and visitors. There was also a volunteer opportunity to create cards for children as holiday music played in the background. It was a great way to not only prepare everyone for the holiday cheer but also spread it around to others. A great send-off to the upcoming winter break and Christmas holiday.
