Special education students of Woodbridge High School are learning job-related skills by brewing coffee for teachers through a new Woodbridge High School program known as The Barron Baristas.
Students brew and serve coffee to staff members based on orders made by the staff. This initiative develops technical skills including: time management, following instruction, and customer service.
Barron Baristas functions as a hands-on experience. The program gives the students an active representation of job-related experiences; preparing them for their futures.
This program will give special education students a chance to feel independent. While also reinforcing responsibility and teamwork. As well as making school a more engaging experience for the students and staff alike!
The Barron Baristas continue to flourish in popularity among staff and the WHS community, serving not just coffee, but confidence and career readiness one cup at a time.
