The Woodbridge High School girls’ basketball team’s season has begun. Their record currently stands at 9-5 at the time of this article being written. Woodbridge will soon be host to one of their biggest games of the season against East Brunswick for the GMC’s .

Brianna DeJesus, a sophomore varsity player, values her team mates and their unity. “Woodbridge’s greatest asset is our strength as a team. We push each other to do better and want each other to do their best,” said DeJesus.

Even though they are critical of themselves, they count on each other for help. This close-knit accountability counts as of the most important assets, as expressed by the team.”[The team’s bond] is very helpful to playing — getting along off the court helps during games and practices,” said DeJesus.

Kasey Morrison, a sophomore varsity player, sees this friendship as the foundation of the team’s hard work and dedication. “The team gets along very well with each other and it helps on the court because there’s always positive energy,” said Morrison.

Brooke Timinski, senior captain, attributes the determination that comes of this as the key to their success. “Our greatest strength is that we compete hard and always give our 100% effort in every game we play,” said Timinski.

She also added “our bond is really strong, we all get along both on and off the court.”

Many of the Lady Barron’s players express the importance of bonding between team members this season. It benefits the team, both on and off the court.  The Lady Barrons players are very eager for senior Brooke Timinski, who joined the 1,000 point club this season.

The season for the WHS girls’ basketball team continues through and ends in early February, 2018.
